High Mass Range Analysis
Scientific research involving Molecular Clusters, Ion Clusters and Nanostructures rely on Quadrupole Mass Filters that are capable of transmitting ions of high molecular weight or m/z ratios. Extrel’s MAX Systems are designed specifically for the researcher’s needs. We offer quadrupole, hexapole, octupole and conical octupole ion guides for almost any experimental configuration.
Individual components are available for systems that are user-designed and assembled. Custom engineering is available for Extrel system-users, including those who are using multiple chambers and differential pumping. Extrel also offers Electron Ionization (EI) and Atmospheric Pressure Ionization (API) ion sources.
Multiple chamber/differentially pumped systems can be designed for on-axis as well as for off-axis operation. Off-axis systems are designed to optimize signal to noise by eliminating neutral interference at the detector. This is done by bending ions which allows neutrals to pass directly through the bender.
