APPLICATIONS - ENCAPSULATED GAS

Lamp and Glass Blister Analysis
The use of mass spectrometry in the lamp and glass manufacturing industries has proven to be invaluable. The flexibility of mass spectrometry coupled with innovative inlet design has made Extrel the market leader in the encapsulated gas analysis industry

Lamp Gas Analyzer                                                       Glass Blister Analyzer

Lamp Analyzer for Automated QC/QA Analysis

Experience
Extrel's lamp analyzers have analyzed more lamps and more different types of lamp than any other analyzer.  Our history of partnering with the major lamp manufacturers to engineer sampling solutions for hundreds of different lamp types has allowed us to become the premier supplier of fill gas analyzers to the lighting industry.  The automated analysis system coupled with the most reliable process mass spectrometer and advanced software control create a complete system that has the power and flexibility to meet the customer specific need for the individual application. We have been providing automated analysis of encapsulated gases for longer, and in a greater variety of applications, than anyone.

Performance
We use a 19 mm high transmission high resolution Quadrupole - the largest and highest performance quadrupole made in the world. It provides better detection limits and precision than the small 6mm quadrupoles used by others. The mass spectrometer system used in the lamp analyzer is identical to the one used in our high performance process mass spectrometers, having an on-line reliability of better than 98% in continuous use.   The straightforward data system allows the user to easily change analysis methods to accommodate changes in fill gases, with the capability to store and use any method created. The resulting Lamp Analyzer system has the best performance and the highest throughput available.

Glass Blister Analyzer for Automated QA/QC

Experience
Since 1985, Extrel has installed Blister Analyzers throughout the world including China, Korea, Malaysia, Germany, Japan, and the USA. Extrel has designed this system to meet the analysis and reporting requirements specified by all the major glass manufacturing companies. At the same time our instruments retain the flexibility to meet the customer specific need for the individual application.

The Blister Analyzer components are identical to the ones used in our high performance process mass spectrometers, having an on-line reliability of better than 98% in continuous use. Furthermore, the small gas load of a Blister Analyzer allows for the use of ion pumps to maintain system cleanliness, eliminate potential oil contamination from typical turbomolecular pump systems, and to provide a vacuum tight system for fast recovery in the event of a power loss.
