Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, July 13, 2018 – Extrel CMS, one of the world’s leading suppliers of high-quality real-time gas analyzers built for hazardous operating environments, recently attained ATEX and IECEx certifications for the MAX300-RTG series mass spectrometers.
Extrel has over 10 years of experience supplying purged systems for various Ex standards. The new MAX300-RTG certifications for both Zone 1 and Zone 2 made it a more involved process coordinating with our ExCB – Intertek, an Ex certification body.
Jeff Walker, Senior Development Engineer, said “This is a milestone for Extrel. We are quite excited to have obtained third-party certification for our entire MAX300-RTG product line. We now have NRTL approval for the US and Canadian markets, along with ATEX and IECEx approval for international customers.”
The certifications allow for the gas analyzers to be used in potentially hazardous applications, such as explosive atmospheres.
“Along with Extrel’s ISO-9001 International Standards for Quality Management certification, this enhancement for ISO IEC 80079-34 provides for truly global product offerings,” said Kelly Malena, Manager of Product Quality and Compliance.
Extrel is committed to providing products that comply with the latest technical and quality standards. The ATEX and IECEx certifications reflect the Company’s mission to provide customers with innovative solutions that improve process performance and lead to strong relationships.
